[fname], last week I covered questions #1 & #2 from my report on the 12 Do's, Don'ts And Questions To Ask Before Hiring a Tax Preparation Individual To Do Your Personal Taxes.

This week in case you did not get a chance to read the report yet, here are the second 2 questions of the do's and don'ts to ask, as well as "keep in mind" before choosing a tax preparer:

#3 - ASK what their service fees typically are upfront. Although a preparer can not always give you an exact dollar amount of the cost of your return until they see and review all your tax information and documentation (especially if you are a new client or have had significant changes in your tax filing status in the last year) they should be able to give you a range (between $X and $Y) your return should fall into.

#4 - DO avoid preparers who tell you they base their fee on a percentage of your refund or who say they can get larger refunds than others can. It is not a guarantee but often these people are misleading you just to get your business. Or they potentially are scam artists who just pose as tax preparers during tax time. Why do they do this? To lure victims in by promising large federal tax refunds or refunds that people never dreamed they were due in the first place. As the old saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

Remember if you are paying someone to prepare your federal income tax return for you it is good common sense and makes financial sense for you to choose that person carefully and wisely.

That's why I offer a FREE 30-Minute Consultation where you can call (or call to schedule a time) and tell me about your situation or company, ask me questions and see if it makes sense to talking more about becoming your accounting firm.

All you need to do is call me at 801-521-4538.

I hope you enjoy the information!
