Down Week, Indexes Mostly Recover From China Tariff Fears, Jobless Claims Fall to 209,000
for Week Ending 8/9/2019

Despite Monday's big pullback & China's new tariff talks + currency devaluation, the majors were down just slightly this week. For the week the Dow lost 197 pts or -0.75%, the S&P fell 13 pts or -0.46%, while the NASDAQ slid 44 pts or -0.56%. Jobless claims also fell to 209,000 for the week ending 8/3. Investors can expect more volatility as Sept's trade talks with China might not happen and trade & currency tensions continue. Have a good weekend! Ed
