two weeks ago I emailed you the Questions to Ask when hiring a Bookkeeper or
Accountant, specifically the INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE questions.
It is not always the situation but sometimes it helps to have an accountant or CPA who has already worked with a company in the same business or general market as you.
Today I want to give you the 4th area of questions to ask which is about the firms ACCOUNTING SYSTEMS or software they use with companies similar to yours.
The ACCOUNTING SYSTEMS questions you should be asking are:
a) I use a particular type of software. Are you familiar with this software?
b) Do you have professional staff that is certified as experts in using this software?
c) Do you think I should consider any other software from what I have talked to you about?
Why are these accounting systems questions so important?
Not always but often it helps to have an accountant or CPA who has already worked with the SAME software or accounting systems that you are using today.
They will have a general understanding of how your software functions and any data entry, reporting or problems that are common to software packages like yours.
This is preferable because if your software program is completely new to the firm, you're PAYING them AND TRAINING THEM at the same time, on how your software operates.
I'd rather have a person or firm ALREADY know a little about my company's accounting system so they get up to speed on MY company quicker.
Obviously after looking at these questions, you're welcome to interview me and ask these same EXPERIENCE questions of my staff here at [abusiness]!
That is why I offer a FREE 30-Minute Consultation where you can call (or call to schedule a time) and tell me about your situation or company, ask me questions and see if it makes sense to talking more about becoming your accounting firm.
All you need to do is call me at [aphone].
I hope you enjoy the report!
